Mleiha Archaeological Centre gives a first-hand glimpse of olden ages. The center is a new building at the heart of Mleiha Basin, 60km north of Sharjah.
.
The project challenge was to tell the story of Mleiha over 125,000 years in one open space. To address this challenge, the 700 sqm exhibition space was split into zones creating a one-way chronological circulation going through the different historic ages of Paleolithic, Neolithic, Bronze, Iron, and Pre-Islamic. Color codes and leveling where used to differentiate between the different ages as the visitors walk through the exhibition space. Original objects excavated from the surrounding archaeological sites were put on display along with the use of various elements, such as models, scenography, multimedia and interactive digital displays to enrich the visitors experience and help interpret the storyline.
